Selector Valve

Selector Valve: Application

Selector Valve are used to direct flow of carbon dioxide, clean agent (FE 227/FM 200) into one specific hazard of a multiple hazard system. A pilot nitrogen cylinder pneumatic actuation of the selector valve is accomplished when the solenoid valve receives a signal from the control panel. Mechanical activation can be accomplished by operating the manual release lever on top of the valve.

Selector Valve: Specification

SIZE: 40mm - 150mm.
MATERIAL: Bronze (BC6)
TEST PRESSURE: 250 Bar (Inner Pressure)
WEIGHT: 2.5 Kgs. - % 2 Kgs.
OPERATION: Automatic by Gas Pressure (Pneumatic or Manual)

The Selector Valve is constructed of bronze material. The Valve is a pressure differential type that block the flow of agent through the piping until it is activated. Valve actuation is accomplished either manually with the manual release lever, or by the pilot Nitrogen Cylinder that is part of the selector valve assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE :

The Selector Valve is installed in the supply piping branch for the hazard being protected. Depending on the size of the selector valve, the valve is either threaded in place, or bolted to the piping flanges. The flow arrow on the valve body casting must point in the direction of flow towards the hazard.

Separate body and flange (union for under 40A) by detaching
Weld flange (or union) to pipe.
After welding, put selection valve flange (or union) and reconnect.
Connect Starting Gas Inlet of start cylinder to Actuating Device Outlet. Connect other end to valve for system cylinder.
Connect Starting Nipple for pressure switch to pressure switch for lamp type in Actuating Device unit.
