Fire Pump and Water Based Systems such as sprinkler systems and standpipe System are required to have at least one listed valve installed to allow for the system to be shut down. The types of valves are vary with the location of the valve in the water supply system or portion thereof.
Listed control valves are evaluated for such characteristics as the maximum working pressure to which they can be exposed, the hydraulic profile or equivalent pipe lengths that result, and the means of supervising equipment that they may use.
