Job Summary:
We are looking for a Marketing Engineer – Fire & Safety to promote and support sales of fire protection and safety systems. This role involves working closely with customers, sales teams, and technical departments to provide solutions that meet fire and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in fire protection systems, excellent marketing skills, and a deep understanding of industry standards.

As a Marketing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for fire and safety products (fire alarms, suppression systems, extinguishers, etc.).
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities in the fire and safety industry.
  • Provide technical support and product knowledge to clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.

The role involves evaluating designs, components, and suppliers to ensure LIFECO’s solutions remain competitive without compromising quality or code compliance. This role bridges engineering, procurement, and commercial aspects to drive technical innovation and cost-effective alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Value Engineering and Analysis:
• Conduct value analysis on fire protection products (e.g., suppression systems, valves, sprinklers, fire pumps, piping, accessories).
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials, designs, suppliers, or manufacturing methods.
• Benchmark products and solutions against competitors to enhance market competitiveness.
Collaboration and Review:
• Collaborate with design, estimation, and sales teams to evaluate existing solutions and suggest optimizations.
• Review technical submittals, BOMs, and product specifications for potential value improvements.
• Engage with manufacturers to explore customized or OEM options meeting international standards.
Technical Support and Documentation:
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing value engineering studies, alternatives, and recommendations.
• Maintain updated records of approved value-engineered solutions and alternatives.
• Support pre-sales teams with value-engineered proposals that meet both technical and commercial requirements.
Research and Standards:

Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
• 5+ years in fire protection or MEP systems, with a focus on technical evaluation, cost analysis, or product sourcing.
• Experience with value engineering or cost-reduction initiatives in the fire safety field is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of fire protection systems and components.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and compliance documents.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, and engineering/design software.

Preferred Certifications:
• NFPA certifications or relevant value engineering training.
